He holds a PhD in Environmental Epidemiology from the University of Basel and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, with a focus on Health Impact Assessment of large infrastructure projects and maternal and child health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His work combines environmental epidemiology, implementation science and mixed-methods public health research. He has led and contributed to studies on climate change and health, air quality, mining and health, malaria chemoprevention, HPV vaccination, adolescent health, mobility and access to health services. His current projects include BLAZE, on air quality in Mozambique; CliMaH, on climate change, urbanisation and maternal and child health; TRANS-WELL, on multiple crises such as armed conflicts and extreme climate related events, health and health system; and implementation research linked to malaria and HPV prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Cossa is involved in national and international collaborations with institutions in Africa, Europe and Latin America, and contributes to policy discussions on health impact assessment, climate, environment and public health.
