Maria Fernanda Zermoglio is an independent consultant and climate resilience specialist supporting organizations working at the intersection of sustainability, climate information, and health. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography and has over 30 years of experience in adaptation of climate change, disaster risk management, and climate-informed development across Africa, Latin America, Asia, and small island states.

Dr. Zermoglio’s expertise spans climate and health, early warning systems, vulnerability and adaptation assessments, climate information services, and institutional capacity strengthening. She has held senior advisory roles with USAID, the World Bank, the Green Climate Fund, the World Health Organization, and other international organizations, leading work on climate strategy, resilience programming, and climate-resilient health systems.

Fernanda has contributed to major initiatives such as the U.S. Fifth National Climate Assessment, climate and health analyses in Africa and Asia, and multi-country efforts to strengthen adaptation planning and early warning for climate-sensitive diseases. Her leadership roles include service with the IPCC Task Group on Data and Scenario Support for Impact and Climate Analysis and the WCRP Regional Information for Society working group, and her current work focuses on advancing practical, evidence-based approaches to climate resilience with a strong emphasis on health and locally grounded adaptation.
